Jay Santos hails from the scorching hot city of Manila, Philippines. He remains fiercely loyal to his heritage and pays tribute to it by branding himself after his family name. He started dabbling in DJ'ing around early 2002. Like most novices, he used his passion for dance music as an inspiration to start creating mixes at home. In 2003, Jay and a talented group of friends set out to open a business venture that would change the landscape of gay nightlife in Manila forever. The biggest and only gay night club in the Philippines, BED exploded into the social scene and suddenly the gay men of Manila had a space to dance, cruise, and rock out to the hottest house and tribal beats heard around the world. Jay suddenly found himself playing several roles such as operations manager, host, occasional gogo-boy, and most importantly resident DJ. He played almost every night the club was open and eventually was assigned to the wildly popular "Massive Saturdays" evening where he turns it out every weekend to a dizzying crowd of more than a thousand shirtless men. Almost seven years later, BED is still the epicenter of gay life in Manila today.
2008 saw a big change in Jay's life when he moved to the US. He remains part-owner of BED and promised the boys of Manila that he will visit once a year to remind them how he used to make the ground shake. Today although his surroundings may have changed, Jay is still armed with an obsession for dance music and is hard at work kick starting a career as a DJ in the US. He's very excited to meet and hopefully spin with American artists such as Tony Moran, Abel Aguilera, Hex Hector, Danny Tenaglia, Peter Rauhofer, David Morales, Junior Vasquez, Jamie J Sanchez, Ralphi Rosario, and Twisted Dee who've inspired and refined his taste in music throughout the years. Realizing that he is now playing in the big leagues, Jay promises to step up his game and drop the most bangin vocal house and tribal tracks. Prepare to burn the dance floor San Francisco.
